Slow and steady wins the race (at least that's what I've been told).

I'm at day 5 post op.

Some observations:

1. I hurt way more than I expected to by this time.
2. I still have to take my "good" pain meds once a day.
3. The heavy duty Ibuprofen just doesn't cut it most of the time, so I just deal with the dull achiness.
4. I think I'm up and about too much.
5. Resting here is hard because I want to help and sometimes, I need to help.
6. My husband is doing a GREAT job juggling work and home stuff.

I'm lying down right now - I'd like to stay that way for a while. Will is at school, Jake is hangin' on the couch watching Spongebob and Hank is in the Johnny Jump Up hangin' with Brian while he works. Maybe everyone will cooperate today and let me rest a bit more? We'll see.

I've been told that the recovery for this surgery is a slow process - I'm not allowed to do much of anything for 2 weeks. That seems like a looooooooooong time. I keep telling myself that slow and steady does win the race. I wonder how long it will take before my brain actually believes it.

I'm sorry you're still in so much pain; don't overdo it though - rest as much as you can and take it easy!
