Time to rest? Ha!

What a weekend! Crazy thunderstorms, flooded roads, EXCELLENT baseball, good beer and hot dogs, an insanely good meal at the Wolfgang Puck grille, more crazy rain, another EXCELLENT sporting event (Buick Open) and hanging with friends last night - I've been on the go and exhausted since Friday...lol

But, we're home now. Hubs is taking the big boys to the Tigers game today and the schmoog and I are hitting Michael's and Meijer. I love the fact that he can't argue with me about shopping ;)

Hubs is on vacation next week and instead of doing the swanky hotel thing, I'm doing a spa day!! My plans were to do a facial, manicure, pedicure and a new haircut with some funky purple highlights - gotta skip the facial (I'm sunburned), but still plan on the other treatments and I CAN'T WAIT! I shall post pictures of my groovy haircut and funky highlights.

One day closer.....

I've been SO looking forward to tomorrow for a while now.

My AWESOME sitter is spending the night at our home, to watch our 3 munchkin men, so the hubs and I can have a full night AWAY....OUT of the house....for the WHOLE night! I'm almost giddy over it. We're heading to the Tigers game tomorrow night and then to the Buick Open on Saturday morning. We went last year and had loads o' fun. I can't wait :) I'm able to relax about this whole "leaving my babies" thing, too because my sitter is wonderful. My older boys LOVE her - I mean "love her" like when she walks in the door, they quickly send us out! There are no tears when Mommy and Daddy leave for the evening. They practically push us out the door. This is my first time leaving the schmoog overnight - I'm a bit nervous about that, but trust her completely. I'm sure I'll call or text her several hundred times to check on him. I'm going to miss my extra appendage <3

AND....I get to crop tonight with a friend for several hours....out in public....with other adults....in a store that has incredibly good stuff. I've been surrounded by munchkin men for 3 straight days, with no hubs. He's been SO busy with work and we've been flying solo here. I've hit the brick wall and am in desperate need for some adult time with friends - I get that tonight!

AND....hubs informed me last night that he's sending me away to a swanky hotel for a night next week - YAY! YAY! YAY! I looked it up last night and it looks wonderful. I'll be sure to take pictures of my day/evening alone.

Schmoog is taking a nap, the big boys are still sleeping - I'm off to get my scrapbooking stuff together :)

This is my first time doing this! I can't wait to get some new recipes because to be quite honest, I'm bored stiff with what I cook every week. This is an easy week for me this week - the hubs is away for work until Wednesday evening, so we're going to meet him for dinner tonight. I only need to feed me and the 2 biggest munchkins tomorrow night and then on Friday, the hubs and I are going out - YaY!

Monday - out to dinner.
Tuesday - boys are having kid cuisines and I'm having a frozen dinner - give me the mom of the year award, please.
Wednesday - french toast with sausage
Thursday - grilled hot dogs with chili, macaroni and cheese and corn
Friday - hubs and I are away for the night - kids will eat pizza/breadsticks and my AWESOME babysitter will try to give them carrots and dip, too.

Next week probably won't be much better because the hubs is on vacation and we're trying to plan little day trips here and there.

Ahhh, the joys of childhood!

I remember when eating a popsicle was one of the highlights of my day. I remember thinking it was the BEST THING EVER to be able to stay outside and play after dark and our parents didn't have to worry about where we were, who we were with or what we were doing. I remember spending the majority of my summer days with a beach towel wrapped around me because I'd been swimming for hours upon hours and the water was probably ice cold, but I didn't care. I remember not having a care in the world.

Now, I spend my time hoping and trying my hardest to provide those kinds of summer memories for my boys. I spent the majority of my summer at the babysitter's house (until I was 10 or 11 at least). I thrilled that I'm able to create these memories on a daily basis with my babies and that God has blessed us with the means for me to stay home.

To see the joy in their faces as I open a popsicle package makes me so happy - we're off to do that now :)

Well, all my friends are doing it!

So, I've joined the masses. I'm being a follower. I'm now a blogger. This should be fun!

I spend an hour or so every morning, while feeding my sweet schmoog and drinking my coffee with chocolate caramel creamer, reading several blogs. I read them religiously every morning and feel like I know these women. While reading these blogs, I realized that putting my thoughts down "on paper" might be a good idea. So, here we are!

I'm sure most of the people reading this blog will already know me. But, for those of you who do read and don't know me, here goes:

I'm Tina - I'm a 34 year old SAHM to 3 sweet little men - Will is a soon to be 6 year old first grader, Jake is a 4 1/2 year old preschooler and my sweet schmoog, Henry, is my April Fool's 2008 baby!

I'm married to a pretty groovy guy named Brian - he's 37. We live on the east side of Michigan, pretty close to the "D".

We're native east coasters and debate almost daily whether or not we want to go back. We love Michigan, but we get the moving "itch" every few years. We shall see what the future holds.

Nice to "meet" you all :)
